Daikin Airconditioning Central Europe – Czech Republic: Sustainability and heat pumps
Heat pumps reduce energy consumption during the heating and cooling of buildings. They help meet decarbonization goals and at the same time increase the share of energy from renewable sources. Used coolants from heat pumps are an important part of the circular economy, as they can be reused after the end of the pump’s useful life. With the contribution of the EU, the international online exchange Retradeables was created, the goal of which is to dispose of as little as possible of used F-gases and to recycle as much as possible. The “L∞P by Daikin” program supports the reclamation of refrigerants from old equipment, which are reused in new products after recycling. Using concrete case studies from the Czech Republic (a family house and an administrative building), we will show the concrete saving of CO2 emissions by heat pumps and the possible saving of fossil gas thanks to heat pumps.
