Čestmír Strakatý was born in Tábor and, like the Hussites, soon moved on to Prague. He studied law and media studies. The past imperfect tense is used intentionally. He started at ČT24 as an editor and later ČT24 news editor. He collaborated as a co-editor on the preparation of the show Událostí, komentářů with the team of Martin Veselovský and Daniela Drtinová. He joined them later at DVTV, where as a dramaturg and editor he participated, for example, in an interview with Martin Konvička and hundreds of others, which was awarded a Journalism Award. He left DVTV to launch an interview program for the Czech News Center under the Info.cz brand. Eventually he joined Reflex, at which he matured and which shaped him to some extent. He enjoys people and their stories, politicians more than politics. Starting in August 2021, he has co-hosted the Press Club program on the Frequency 1 radio station. He prepares five interviews a week, including dramaturgical, editorial and most production work. He enjoys natural discussion and pushing his own boundaries. With Prostor X, he won the main prize in the news category in the Podcast of the Year 2021 competition, and a nomination for the Kříšťálová lupa internet award was his iron in the fire. Music plays an essential role in his life. And tattoos. Bojack Horseman is his hero, Boards of Canada and booming techno are the ideal backdrops for him.
