Martin Beran has been working in the Dřevotvar družstvo company for 35 years, 28 of them as the chairman of the board. He currently also holds the position of first vice-chairman of the Union of Czech and Moravian Production Cooperatives. Dřevotvar družstvo, based in Jablonné nad Orlicí, is a Czech company that has been producing furniture for more than 70 years, currently mainly for children. At the same time, it is also a manufacturer of a wide range of wooden kitchen utensils (with an annual production of 2.5 million pieces of wooden spoons, it ranks among the largest manufacturers of this range in Central Europe). Dřevotvar was among the first three companies in the Czech Republic to receive the FSC certificate in 1997. Most current customers purchase goods from the company with this certificate. Dřevotvar also actively participates in the promotion of the FSC certificate in the Czech Republic.
