Czech & Slovak Sustainability Summit, 20. 4. 2023, WPP Campus, Prague

Venue

An exceptional space for an exceptional event

WPP CAMPUS (FORMER PALACE OF ELECTRIC ENTERPRISES)

The avant-garde functionalist building, designed by Adolf Benš and Josef Kříž, was an architectural and technological sensation at the time of its completion in 1935, featuring stunning spatial generosity and the use of sophisticated technologies such as American air conditioning, Carrier hot air heating and a 15-ton freight elevator for cars.

The concept for the Campus space was designed by BDG Architecture + Design (a part of WPP) in collaboration with architect Marek Tichý. The agile working environment also allows for flexibility in the shared co-working spaces in the mezzanine, on the terrace, in the meeting rooms and in the canteen. In the atrium, directly above the main reception, an art installation by Czech company Preciosa Lighting, consisting of 797 hand-blown glass spheres symbolizing the interconnectedness and collaboration of agencies within WPP, hangs in the heart of the Prague Campus.

The quality of the sensitively executed refurbishment is evidenced by the recently won Building of the Year 2021 award, the most important event of the year in the construction and architecture industry. The competition is organized by the Foundation for the Development of Architecture and Construction.
